Following his presentation, five professors had the opportunity to ask in-depth questions about his work. Zeljko answered each question clearly and to their satisfaction. After a 15-minute private discussion, the professors returned to congratulate him on his outstanding work and his newly earned doctorate.
Dedicated to Expanding Knowledge
Several colleagues, primarily from Baettr Guldsmedshyttan, Baettr India, and the global Casting Technology team, played a crucial role in supporting the research by designing test plates, overseeing production, and conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) and mechanical property evaluations, all of which contributed to the final conclusions of his dissertation.
Zeljko’s dissertation further strengthens our commitment to expanding knowledge about the materials we produce daily. His research not only formed the basis of his PhD but also played a key role in localizing raw material sourcing for our foundry in India. The tests and analyses demonstrated that we can achieve the same material quality using different baseline parameters.
We could learn a lot more about detrimental elements which will be beneficial for our other foundries as well but for now, this is a big step in the direction of staying competitive and getting more sustainable.
